TaijutsuA technical class focusing on the core strategies & unarmed techniques from the Bujinkan Manitoba curriculum. Body management skills, striking techniques, joint manipulations, throws, chokes and holds are refined through cycles of kihon-waza, koshiki-gata and randori practice.

Equipment:Full uniform [jacket/pants/belt/tabi],
a protective cup & mouth guard for randori.

11:00-12:30pm
BukiThese classes cover fundamental postures, footwork, grip and body\weapon coordination, as well as traditional training patterns [Koshiki-gata] of a variety of weapons. Study rotates through the following weapons; spear and halberd, knife, fan and truncheon, chain and rope weapons, and throwing blades. With each cycle, new students are introduced to the fundamentals while experienced students deepen their knowledge and skill.

Equipment:Full uniform & appropriate weapons.

Biken & BojutsuThese classes focus on Bikenjutsu [sword], Bojutsu [staff], Jo and Hanbo [sticks].

New students will focus on the fundamentals of each weapon: grip; posture and footwork; appropriate angles and trajectory while cutting/striking; distance and timing; and awareness and intent. Experienced students will refine the fundamentals and explore the subtle nuances and precision of the sword, staff and sticks through traditional training patterns [Koshiki-gata].

Equipment:Full uniform, bokuto & iaito.

8:30-10:00pm
